Hi! I’m Cassandra…a fitness trainer, writer & health researcher.
My work is dedicated to helping women shape their body by releasing fat, gaining muscle, reducing cellulite, improving skin elasticity and restoring vitality to their body at any age without the hard exercise and diet restrictions.
How I got started
If you were to have met me at 15 you may have thought I’d be the last person on the planet to be where I am today, over 20 years later.
Weighing in at 30 pounds above my current weight, I was also a smoker and drinker that experimented with drugs and took risks with my life for years.
It all caught up with me at the age of 30. I was still overweight but the years of bad habits also brought with them decreased lung function, painful menstrual cycles, poor posture, back pain, no muscle tone and a load of depression that weighed on me like a ton of bricks.
I rarely felt beautiful or feminine and as a result my self-esteem hit rock bottom because I didn’t feel I deserved any better than what the world was serving me.
So I took a personal training course.
For years I tried every diet, cleanse and workout program and felt it was time to learn the basics of fitness as taught to professionals.
I put my fears aside and studied the principles of fitness under George Xiros, world-renowned fitness instructor and owner of the Studio One Fitness Organization based in Athens, Greece.
This was not a weekend certification like what is seen here in North America but six weeks of weekend training for the personal training course and six months of weekends for my health and fitness professional course.
I was ready to do it and spent all my savings and took a loan to make it possible. Something was telling me that this was the best investment of my life to date.
I was right. From the first day of class I started working out and haven’t stopped yet.
But I made a lot of mistakes on the way…
I worked out too often, with too much intensity.
I eliminated entire food groups from my diet out of fear.
I didn’t engage in any practices to quiet my body and still my mind.
And it all backfired in 2010.
I developed fatigue, muscular imbalances, painful menstrual cycles, aging skin, depression, constant muscular pain and anxiety.
It took several years of trial and error, but since then I developed a method that:
- reverses the signs of premature aging
- regulates menstrual cycles
- dramatically improves sexual health
- improves mood
- speeds up metabolism
- enables fat to be released from the midsection, upper thighs & arms
- reduces and eventually eliminates cellulite
- completely reshapes the body
The key pillars to this method are as follows:
Nervous System Health
Hard exercise is not for everyone. When the body is in a stressed state the functions of breathing, digestion and muscular repair are compromised. The first step in all my programs is an assessment of the nervous system to determine what type of exercise is right for you.
The next step is to determine the health of the cardiovascular and respiratory system and the development of optimal breathing mechanics in order to ensure adequate delivery of oxygen and nutrients throughout the entire body.
Posture is extremely important as it determines how weight is distributed throughout the body. Before any heavy exercising can be performed, posture is analyzed to determine any muscular imbalances before the commencement of the training program.
In order to use the full capacity of a muscle, the joint must be mobile and movement must be unrestricted. Exercising intensely when there is a lack of mobility and flexibility prevents the entire muscle from developing properly. The first stage of the training program is to develop mobility in the joints in order to increase flexibility.
The benefits of cardiovascular exercise include improved heart health, increased metabolism, balancing of hormones, increased oxygen and nutrient delivery, improved moved and increased feeling of well-being. Following the first foundational phrase of training cardiovascular exercise is then introduced into the program to achieve these results.
Improved muscular strength and capacity is important to increase lean muscle tissue, improve metabolism, make life’s tasks much easier, increase bone density, joint strength, tendon strength and more. It is important to work on developing muscular strength in a safe way that will not leave you exhausted, sore and dreading the next session.
I have worked, studied and trained in Greece, Canada, Bali, India & Thailand. My certifications include:
- Personal Training Specialist Certification – Can-Fit-Pro (Toronto, Canada) 2016
- Pilates Intensive Certification – Body Harmonics (Toronto, Canada) 2012
